ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute Shimla invited applications from desirous and eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of Research Associate and Senior Research Fellow purely on Contractual basis under the time bound project.

Essential Qualification :

Research Associate :

Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Biochemistry Genetics and Plant Breeding/Molecular Breeding Life Sciences Bioinformatics from recognized Institute /University OR

With Master’s degree holders: Master’s degree in the relevant subject (as mentioned above) with 4/5 years years of Bachelor’s degree having 1″ division or 60% marka or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience. as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associate ship/ Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F. No.2-9/12-HRD dated 25.04 2014 and one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI)/ NAAS rated (24.0) Journal as per OM SR/S9/Z-00/2018 of DST dated 30.1.2019.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in genome editing/ genetic transformation of plants OR

Experience in gene cloning and expression analysis.

OR Experience in structural & Functional genomics

OR Experience in plant tissue culture/ Protoplast isolation and handling

Senior Research Fellow :

Master Degree in Biotechnology / Plant Molecular Biology / Plant Biochemistry / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Molecular Breeding / Life Sciences / Bioinformatics from recognized Institute / University with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s Degree.

Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience as per (ICAR OM No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD, dated 13th July, 2015, OM No. Agril. Edn./6/27/2014-HRD, dated 9th October, 2015 of the Council and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January 2019).

Desirable Qualifications:

Monthly Emolument :

Reseach Associate	Rs. 49,000/- per month + HRA as per Master holders) & rule (for Degree Rs. 54,000/- per month + HRA (for Ph.D).
Senior Research Fellow	Rs. 49,000/- per month + HRA as per Master holders) & rule (for Degree Rs. 54,000/- per month + HRA (for Ph.D).

In absence of Certificates/Degree (Provisional / Original), applications will not be considered at any level.

The candidate appearing for interview must bring all the original certificates with them and only those candidates possessing essential qualification as per the advertisement will be interviewed. The Director, CPRI, Shimla reserves the right to either fill up the post or cancel the interview without assigning any reasons thereof. No TA/DA will be given by the Institute to candidates.

The Institute is located at Bemice which is about 2 kms from Main Bus stand (Old)/3 kms. from the Railway Station and about 5 Kms. from ISBT (Tutikandi), Shimla.
