Himachal Pradesh Electrical Inspectorate invited applications from desirous and eligible candidates for filling up of 01 post of Driver (Class-lll) on daily wage basis.

Education and other Qualification :

Essential : Matric Pass form a recognized Board of School Education. Must posses valid driving license for plying of heavy / light vehicles in hilly terrain.

Desirable : Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.

The candidate should be a Bonafide Himachali.

Age Limit :

The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 45 years as on 01.01.2021. The relaxation in upper age limit is permissible upto 5 years in case of SC applicant as per instructions of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Application Fee:

Rs. 200/- for General Category and Rs. 100/- for SC category which may be deposited through Challan of the requisite amount of fees in the head, detail given here under :

Female candidate shall be exempted from the application fee in accordance with the instructions of the Government.

How to Apply :

The desirous and eligible candidates applying for the post of Driver may apply on the prescribed application from also uploaded on the Department official Website along with attested copies of all relevant testimonials/ documents so as to show their age/ qualification / experience etc. The applications should be addressed to the Chief Electrical Inspector, Himachal Pradesh, Block No. 29, S.D.A. Complex, Kasumpati, Shimla-171009. The envelope containing application form should be super-scribed as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DRIVER (Daily wage Basis).

Mode of Selection :

Selection for appointment to the post shall be made on the basis of merit of written examination covering the syllabus of driving, maintenance skill of vehicle and Motor Vehicle Act etc. followed by evaluation as specified in Appendix-1 followed by practical test for driving and maintenance skill of the candidates. Passing of practical test shall be mandatory.

Written Examination :

Percentage of marks obtained in written examination to be calculated out of 85 marks. { For example, a candidate getting 50 % marks in written examination will be given 42.5 marks} = 85 Marks

Evaluation :

  1. Weightage for the minimum education qualification, prescribed in the Recruitment & Promotion Rules. = 2.5 Marks.
  2. Belonging to notified Backward Area/ Panchayat as the case may be = 01 Mark
  3. Landless family/ family having land less than 1 hectare to be certified by the concerned Revenue Authority = 01 Mark
  4. Non-Employment certificate to the effect that non of the family members is in Government/ Semi Government service =01 Mark
  5. Differently abled persons with more than 40% impairment/ disability/ infirmity = 01 Mark
  6. BPL family having annual income (from all sources) below Rs. 40,000/- or as prescribed by the Govt. from time to time = 02 Marks
  7. NSS (at least one year) certificate / NCC Certificate/ the Bharat Scout & Guide/ Medal winner in National Level Sports competitions. = 01 Marks
  8. Widow/ divorced/ destitute/ single woman = 01 Mark
  9. Single daughter/ orphan = 01 Mark
  10. Training of at least 6 months duration related to the post applied for from a recognised University/ Institution = 01 Mark
  11. Experience upto a maximum of 5 years in the Govt./ Semi Govt. organization relating to the post applied for (0.5 marks only for each completed year) = 2.5 Marks.
